The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), provides a suite of standards for environmentally sustainable construction. Since its inception in 1998, LEED has grown to encompass more than 14,000 projects in 50 U.S. States and 30 countries covering 1.062 billion square feet of development area.

LEED rating system is based on achieving a certain number of points, which are allocated for design choices defined within the standard.

There are 6 sections to LEED that target specific design criteria:
1. Site Selection
2. Efficient use of Water
3. Energy and Atmosphere
4. Materials and Resources
5. Indoor Environmental Quality
6. Innovative Design

Your LEED Evaluation Report will encompass a thorough assessment by Eco-Engineering and Examinations of your project using LEED’s point system as explained above. It will include a detailed report of how your project scored within the certification points system. With your project goals and issues in mind, we then assess which points are the most viable in order to obtain the best LEED certification possible.

There are different levels of certification within the LEED system which are Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Certification. Each level of certification is awarded based on compliance within the standards the US Green Building Council (USGCB) has set forth in the six afore-mentioned categories.

The LEED Evaluation Report is a detailed description of the points earned according to the USGCB official standards.

Your LEED Evaluation Report will include the following (in order):

1- Introduction

2- Evaluation and Goals

3- Explanation of the LEED Point System and Categories and how it pertains to your project

4- Detailed description of each LEED point easily attributable to your project, which points would be financially feasible, and those that would be financially burdensome. Depending on the number of points achieved, the building can attain Platinum , Gold , Silver  or LEED certified status.

5- Charts and diagrams outlining the points awarded by the USGCB standards.

6- Conclusion and Proposal, which includes a summary of the six LEED categories as it pertains to your project and the highest certification level that could be achieved. Other options will also be listed here if your project unfortunately does not meet the standards of the USGBC.
