Building Energy Audits- South Florida

The environmental impact of building construction, design, and operation is significant. Buildings annually consume more than 30% of the total energy and 60% of the total electricity used in the United States . Of that 60%, at least 35% of it can be saved using Energy Conservation Methods (or ECM’s). Inefficient buildings are the #1 culprit of electricity over-usage in the United States .

Eco-Engineering and Examination’s Building Energy Audit Experts use the latest inspection techniques and building modeling software to pin-point those ECM’s that are the most financially feasible to apply…so you can get the most out of your investment. We provide real-world engineering solutions and, through our Energy Audit Report, will break it down in “Dollars and Cents” and in easy-to-follow graphs and tables which will allow you to make informed financial decisions on where you will get the “biggest bang for your buck”.

Solar Panels, Insulation, green roofs etc. are all wonderful technologies that people are using every day. But alone, they may not be the “best and highest use” of your money. Our Auditors consider all these technologies applied to your particular case and obtain the best scenarios for your evaluation.

We keep abreast of the latest technologies available in the market and provide recommendations to reduce your consumption costs by up to 40%. Imagine the savings.

Eco-Engineering and Examinations also provides you with available options to recover some of the costs through local programs, rebates, grants, and tax incentives.

Step 1: No Obligation Consultation

A specialist from Eco-Engineering and Examinations will do an initial walk through of your facility to identify possible ECM’s (energy conservation measures). In some cases, during the initial visit we can discuss budgetary project costs and the paybacks you can expect to receive from them. But many ECM’s will require further study in various levels of detail depending on the complexity of the measure.

Step 2: Detailed Energy Audit and Report

The Audit. Before you start spending money on energy conservation projects, let us rank them by cost effectiveness and net impact. In order to prepare a detailed report and recommendations for you, we will need to do a thorough study of your facility's usage. We will provide you with a quote to perform a study, focusing on the list of ECM's identified during the initial walk through. Once the study is complete, we will return with an Audit report for your facility. We employ the latest technology and equipment for our studies including thermal imaging (click here for more information).

The Report. Using the information collected during the Examination, we will prepare a detailed report that clearly identifies the major energy users in your facility. In some cases, we will be using information collected over time from equipment we installed during the Audit. This report will detail the list of ECM's by their cost, life-cycle savings and simple payback.

Step 3: The Project

Now it's time to start saving money!

In most cases we use our own technicians to implement the conservation measures. Eco-Engineering and Examinations supplies the material and takes care of removal and recycling of the old equipment. We also are there for you after the project. Since we are a local company were always nearby to maintain and support the new system.

What is an Energy Audit?

This Audit is an inspection, survey and analysis of energy flows in a building, process or system with the objective of understanding the dynamics of the system under study. Typically an energy audit is conducted to seek opportunities to reduce the amount of input into the system without negatively affecting the output(s). When the object of study is an occupied building then reducing consumption while maintaining or improving human comfort, health and safety are of primary concern. Beyond simply identifying the sources of energy use, an energy audit seeks to prioritize the energy uses according to the greatest to least cost effective opportunities for savings.

Here at Eco-Engineering and Examinations, we perform audits of:

Lighting systems, HVAC Systems and Controls, Compressed Air Systems, Renewable Applications, Electric Motors and Drives, Process Systems, Heat Recovery, Building Envelope Upgrades, and more!
